Because of His Mercies

(artwork by: Rachael @ Home Sanctuary)

Lamentations 3:22 It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

The love of God is loyal, it never runs out. The well of His mercy never runs dry. His love and mercy are new every morning! I’m so appreciate that GOD allowed me to feel this in my heart this morning. Before rising from my bed this morning I had to give HIM a “thank you!” for allowing me another day to ‘work on getting it right’. What a blessing it is to wake up each morning that the Lord decides to tarry or that He allows us to breathe. He didn’t have to give any one of us another day, but He did. And, I’m one of His children that desires to appreciate that blessing. J

I just so LoVe this passage. If you don’t mind taking the time to read the book of Lamentations, I can guarantee you that it will be well worth your time! Right in the throws of anguish and sorrow, the writer says, “because of the Lord’s mercy, compassion, and faithfulness I’m going to be alright!”.

He redirect His focus. You see, when the focus is directed on HIM instead of on us, we are made to feel more triumphant. Trials have purpose. Trials could make us bitter, but they are really meant to make us better. Elsewise, God would never allow them to come our way. Bitterness is not a good thing and GOD works all things, means all things, for our good. Because of free-will it’s our choice, our determined mindset, that determines whether the letter is going to be an “I” or an “E” (bitter, better). At some point in each life sorrow and hardship come to all, and it is for a divine purpose. Trials are meant to cause us to look upward, not inward. When we look upward, directing and/or redirecting our focus on God, we are made to feel that we can be more than a conquorer. God makes us strong, not us.

I love it when someone who is right in the middle of the throws of pain can LOOK UP. J When we look up instead of looking in, we are letting those around us know, “hey, I’m sticking with God. He’s all I’ve got left. And, oh, what an anchor of the soul He is!!!” When we can smile in the face of sorrow, that’s when God’s light is manifested. For He said, “I will send the Comforter to you”, did He not?! J The Holy Ghost is our Comforter, ya’ll. We must tap into that reservoir---that well---that deep spring of compassion, strength, grace, mercy, love, and peace. Tap into it…it’s new every morning…there is an abundant supply! O what refreshment!!

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end (ESV)

SONG: As we gather may Your Spirit work within us / As we gather may we glorify Your Name / Knowing well that as our hearts begin to worship / We'll be blessed because we came / The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases / His mercies never come to an end / They are new every morning / New every morning / Great is Your faithfulness, 0 Lord / Great is Your faithfulness

My Heart Will Go On Singing

Psalm 98:1 O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.

The Word shines in a dark night. Those times when we might fall. Trials are dark nights. I’m so thankful God gave me a Book full of His love letters and that I have the presence of mind, though sometimes in my delirium, to pick it up and read it. His Word always calms me. It’s shone light all around me in my darkest of nights. His Word keeps me singing like as a nightinggale—not that I sing like one--but the name for this little bird means 'night songstress'. Here is some information I received in my small research of the little bird called the nightingale.

A nightingale got it’s name simply for this reason: Its song is particularly noticeable at night…why??...because few other birds are singing. Singing at dawn, during the hour before sunrise, is assumed to be important in defending the bird's territory. Nightingales sing even more loudly in urban or near-urban environments, in order to overcome the background noise.

So….yes….I think I’ll keep singing!!! I will keep making my melodies of praise to the One who sees all my chaos, all my heartaches, and even all my joys. I will keep making noise unto the One who knows me thru and thru. And, diverting the enemy of my soul—confusing him—when the deafening noise around me (that he is causing) is trying to take over. I will sing unto the LORD!! I will keep defending my territory! I will make melody in my heart and whistle in delight. I will sing the Psalms and Hymns. I will sing His WORD!! Take that, devil!

II Peter 1:19 And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
Psalm 97:11 Light is shed upon the righteous and joy on the upright in heart.
Job 11:17 Life will be brighter than noonday, and darkness will become like morning.
Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shines more and more unto the perfect day.
Psalm 84:7 They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.

Just before the dawn, this is the darkest of night. Joy cometh in the morning!
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. (II Cor. 1:3-4)

Thankful for the true Light and for a song today!
