What God's Servant Can Expect

Isaiah 54:1 Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear: break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the Lord.

Even if the mountains walk away and the hills fall to pieces, His love won't walk away from us.  His covenant commitment of peace won't fall apart.  The God who has compassion on us says so! :-) If anyone attacks you, don't for a moment suppose that God sent them, and if they should attack, nothing will come of it.  Our God created the destroyer...BUT...No weapon that has been formed against you shall prosper.  In court the accuser will be dismissed as a liar.

God calls us to have joy in every circumstance.

He is with us!!!  Jehovah God reigns and He loves us with an everlasting love.

I'm thankful for God's Word--the love notes He sends are eternal.  I am so thankful for the messages He gives.  In this verse (above) He is letting the heartbroken know that He is still with them, and that He has a greater plan He is still working out on their behalf.

He calls us to sing, even in grief.  SO hard to do, but with God all things are possible.  God gives hope in the midst of the storm.  In another translation of scripture this verse is translated like this: "Sing, barren woman, who has never had a baby.  Fill the air with song, you who've never experienced childbirth!  You're ending up with far more children than all those childbearing women."  God says so!

If you continue reading the passage, the verses let us know that no matter what it looked like for the children of Israel, God called His people to take action and to be a part of the plan He had for them.  He called them to clear the ground and make room for their tents; making lots of elbow room for the growing family.  He told them to make the tents large, to spread out, to think big, to use plenty of rope, and drive the tent pegs deep!  God let them know that they would be part of an establishment.  He told them not to be afraid, nor embarrassed; not to hold back, for they would not come up short.  He told them they'd forget the humiliation of their youth, and the memory of their widowhood would fade away.

Verse 8: It's with an everlasting love that He tenderly cares for us.

This is what God's servants can expect...the giving of an expected end.  (Jeremiah 29:11)
