Hope & Life

Psalm 90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

Life is short.  Just yesterday I was thinking about how life has seemed to pass me by.  WOW!  While living life, each day seems at a snail pace, but in the rear-view mirror it seems it has raced passed.  Oh, yes, I’ve lived a lot…accomplished a lot…lost and gained a lot (and that’s not just in body mass either), but to my estimations, not near enough has been accomplished. There are still dreams yet to be fulfilled, goals still yet to be attained…souls yet to be won.  And, it seems it was only yesterday that I was 15 years old.  It’s sho’ nuff hard to believe that in a few short years I will be the big 4—0.  Unimaginable, really.  But, since God views a thousand years as just a day….*grins here*…my age is nothing before the almighty God!  Whew, I only thought I was old! In God’s eyes I’m still a child.  His child.

So, with that in mind, I have to always remember to keep in mind that life is fleeting and each day truly is a gift.  Each day is a gift that is presented from the moment I wake up to the moment I close my eyes to sleep.  Due to God-given Free-Will what I do between those moments of time is totally up to me.

It pays to live wisely.  I’ve learned some tough lessons by not paying attention to what mattered.  The lessons were painful…and I’m still not out of this school yet!...Iwon’t graduate until I hear HIM say well done. So, each day I depend on the LORD more and more.

Live well and live wisely.  This is the only way I’ll hear “Well Done”.  Each day we are given is a gift, that’s why it’s called ‘the present’.  There is a song that comes to mind right now and the lyrics say:  teach us to number our days, make the days count…

We need to always be aware that God has given us only a certain number of days…and only He gets to know the time-frame. In light of eternity our days are as the number of fingers on our hands. That’s really not a ‘drop in the bucket’, my friend.

Whatever we gather, build, attain in this life is nothing compared to the eternal weight of glory we one day shall receive. There is no need for us to ‘strut our stuff’, for in light of what God has done, can do, and shall do there is no comparison.  We must work to show ourself approved.  Live in Faith.  Walk in wisdom.  Walking humbly before God (and man) and living wisely.  The rewards are out of this world!

I wait in HOPE.  My HOPE is in GOD.  He is Just.  He is the Miracle-Worker.  He makes impossibilities, possible.  He is the I AM.  He is ETERNAL.

HOPE: the feeling that what is wanted can be had.
HOPE: the feeling that events will turn out for the best.
HOPE: having expectation.
HOPE: the desire for a certain thing to happen.
