Please Wait

Isaiah 40:31  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

What would happen if instead of us wanting to be in control all the time, we would let go and allow God to be in control?

We all remember the day and hour that we experienced a move of the LORD in our life.  People remember those moments when the Spirit of God comes sweeping in a service and they left the building feeling renewed in strength!  We remember the night we came in weary and God renewed the zeal to keep moving, pressing forward in the battle.

The song that comes to mind right now is:

They that wait
Upon the Lord
Shall renew their strength.
They shall mount up with wings as eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint,
Teach me Lord,
Teach me Lord to wait.

To me this is a song filled with promise.  A song of hope.  God knows the perfect time for everything.  Ecclesiastes 3:1, To every thing there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heaven...

This passage goes on to describe the diverse areas of life when changes must happen.  We must continually wait on Him!  He is the source of our strength through every situation we face.  Who knows but what He may have chosen this particular Season...to season you?

When it's all said and done, if you've held onto God, you will come out on the other side, BETTER.  After all, a diamond was at one time just a lump of coal.

Why do we feel it's our right to complain (at times I too have been so guilty!), or whine that God has somehow lost track of us, or doesn't care what happens to us??  Shouldn't we know better?  Haven't we been listening?  God doesn't get tired out.  He doesn't have to pause to catch his breath.  He knows everything, inside and out.  He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to those that would be called "dropouts".  We all can tire and choose to drop out.  Young and Old alike feeling they're in their prime can stumble and fall.  But those who wait upon God get fresh strength.  They spread their wings and soar, so they can do the task they've been called unto.

FLY ON!!!

(Don't ever say: "I'll get you for that!  Wait for God.  He will settle the score. -Proverbs 20:22)
