Mark 5:36-43,
As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment. And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.
I find it quite intriguing that only 3 of the 12 went to Jarius' home with Jesus. To me, it seems that Jesus only allowed His closest friends/disciples to enter into the problem with Him. What a thought!!
There was a crowd there, but only the called, only Peter, James & John, and the truly distressed ones--in this case--the parents of the girl, were able to stay and be eye-witnesses of the miracle.
The unbelieving and cynical get nowhere with God.
The crowd had formed at Jarius' home, but they were not witnesses of the divine intervention.
You may go to a church filled to over-flowing or you may go to a church filled only with a few, matters not. But, if you want to see a miracle, a divine intervention, make sure you're one of His closest followers. Make sure your belief and your faith is fully engaged and intact. For it's only these that will get a front-row seat to the miraculous.
Only the willing, only the determined, only the faithful, only the desperate, only the prayerful, only the believers will get to see the up-close miraculous workings of God. And, those that chose to laugh at the impossible becoming possible, those that are happy to keep things the same, those that are filled with unbelief, could not be told anything concerning what happened in the house. If you want to truly be "in the know", then stay close to Jesus.
Lord, I want to stay in the House. I want to seek You and truly know You. I want to be right with You, walking in your foot-steps. I don't want to keep myself from anything that You're wanting to do.
