Ecclesiastes 3:1
To EVERYTHING there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven
"A flower does not think of competing to the flower next to it. It just blooms."
This quote is not original with me. I had to share because it is so true...so needed.
One time I had a friend...or so I thought...who seemed to always compared her life to mine.
She subtly compared. Then it became obvious she was doing so.
Towards the end she picked me apart like a buzzard on road kill.
O the hurt it did cause.
All because she always felt she had to "measure up". She was never content to do the work God gave just for her to do, she was never satisfied with her own talents. She compared hers to mine.
Then she became very critical, resentful, and hurtful.
She second-guessed EVERYTHING I did.
Caused rumors to happen. Gossip to run like wild-fire.
Suffice it to say, It ended what could have been a wonderful friendship.
All because of COMPARISON
Try to enjoy...or at least have joy...in every day of your life.
There are many seasons of life I do not understand, yet I still find myself holding on to hope.
HOPE
It's really all I have.
It's all any of us have.
Relationships have come and gone.
Hurts have come...and gone.
Happiness I have found is superficial.
JOY and HOPE, these two are eternal.
The picture above is a perfect illustration that we should be content in what God has given.
Each of us bear different talents. We all have purpose. It just might not be the same avenue of purpose. Yet, in the end, if we follow God's leading, the ultimate purpose is fulfilled.
To start where we stand.
To bloom where we are planted.
To give what we can give.
To use what we have been given.
To be used for God and bring fulfillment and delight to Him.
This flower bed, pictured above, is a bed built around the need of the butterfly.
The butterfly doesn't care so much about the beauty of the flower as it does the nutrients of it.
So the same is with the Lord.
He doesn't care near as much that you were given the talents, He just wants to know what you're going to do with the talents.
Don't compare yourself to another. Just use what your Lord has provided you.
Division happens otherwise.
