II Corinthians 4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
It was a clear, beautiful late Monday afternoon and Shayla was fully focused on getting home. After a hard day at the office all she wanted to do was drive up her driveway and enter her little oasis...HOME. Although she knew that it wasn't going to come until much later in the evening, she just wanted to sit and relax. There was supper to cook, baths to be given, cleaning to be done and, of course, the ever-present load of laundry in the hamper that had to be dealt with. She needed the feeling of pulling up her feet and sitting a spell. On this Monday, especially, she craved it.
One problem at a time.
She yearned for the traffic light to change. Traffic was everywhere on the main street of her little town. People going to and fro. All except for her lane, that is. Nobody moved. The traffic and the traffic light. She looked up and saw that the light was green. Impatiently, with a wave of her hand and in exasperation she spoke to the vehicle in front of her, "Move already! Come on, Don't you see the light is green?!" The Suburban inched forward and Shayla was thrilled to get moving again.
The Suburban stopped, only having enough room on the other side of the light for itself. And in that moment Shayla found herself in the middle of the intersection, the light had changed. She was stuck!
"WHAT?!", she said, speaking to the Suburban. She tapped the steering wheel. "If you would have just kept moving, we would be out of every one's way."
Quickly surveying the surroundings she seen where she had "just enough" room to inch passed the Suburban, but she would have to enter into the turning lane ahead of her so as to get out of the intersection.
Suddenly, everything made a little more sense. She saw the bigger scope of things. The bigger picture. She gained a better perspective on the situation.
The Suburban could not go any further because there was a line of vehicles in front of it that where stopped! None of them able to go anywhere. Because the Suburban was wider and taller than her own vehicle, she had not seen this before now.
Suddenly she felt embarrassingly shamed and foolish.
***
Isn't it just like all humanity to sometimes see only their own lives and what is right in front of them, forgetting that there is more than meets the eye? That others have situations that they too are trying to deal with and get through?
God looks down and sees it all, yet He takes the time with each and everyone of us when we allow Him to. He doesn't mind one on one time even while His eye is ever-present on the whole globe. That's a BIG God!
In the busy-ness of our daily lives, let's not get so consumed that we fail to see others in the light of grace that Jesus sees them. Let's take a step back from the rat race, even for a second, and get a better focus on what really matters.
After all, there may be a line up of distresses in front of others who surround us that we can't see until we remove our self, for a moment, from our own problem.
This life is a temporary home, and the only thing we can take with us to our eternal home is: our friends and family.
Keep the focus on eternity.

Reveling In The Everlasting Love
"Line my line, moment by moment, special times are etched into our memories in the permanent ink of everlasting love in our relationships" --Gloria Gaither
Psalm 37:4-7 Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass. And He shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Each time I read these words I revel in God's comfort and mercy. Many times I have fretted because of "him who prospered in spite of the wicked devices", but leaning into the mercy of God brings immeasurable peace.
The Lord daily loads us with benefits. When He does a work, it is good! The product of your life may not be in your Plan Book, but His plan is way better. In reflection you will be able to see that the things that came your way really did come to make you stronger. Hold fast to the Anchor of the soul, He holds it all.
Wait patiently for Him. Trust in Him. Delight in Him. Commit your life to Him. Keep company with God. Get in on the best He has for you. Open up before God, keep nothing back. He will do whatever needs to be done. He will validate your life in the clear light of day and right in the middle of your day you may get to feel His stamp of approval on you. Quiet down before Him, be prayerful unto Him. Don't be bothered with those who climb the ladder, who elbow their way to the top.
Trust in His love today.

Blessings To You
As the song goes: "There is a roof up above me, I've a good place to sleep; there is food on my table and shoes on my feet, You gave me your love, Lord, and a fine family, Thank you, Lord, for your blessings on me".
God can give you a song right smack in the middle of chaos..and it will allow you the courage to "get ya self together".
Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruit of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.
Obedience is better than sacrifice.
Bringing to God what belongs to Him will guarantee us that we will have everything we need. It may not be all our "wants" but we will surely be blessed with everything we need. What joy that must bring to all hearts today! Somehow the 90% is made to feel like we've got 110%. We can never out-give the Lord!
The Lord's compassions fail not.
Pressed down, shaken together, running over...He's blessing me!
Always hold on to your faith! Talk faith. Live faith. Pray faith. Sing faith. God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. The #1 priority we all need is to desire to attain the Spiritual blessings from God. If I make this my priority it has been promised to me that all other things He believes I can handle shall be added!!
It is such a peaceful, tranquil feeling to fully trust in Jesus.

The Greatest Accomplishment
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success
Success: The favorable or prosperous termination of any thing attempted: a termination which answers the purpose intended, properly in a good sense, but often in a bad sense.
Nehemiah 1:11 O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name and prosper, I pray thee thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer
I am thankful for every blessing and accomplishment that God has allowed. I am thankful for His leading, direction, instruction, encouragement, etc. I never want to become so educated that I think I know it all. I need never to take my hand away from His. I need Jesus. Every day.
Sometimes where He leads can be, for us, a scary place. It is scary because, for us, it is un-chartered waters. BUT JESUS knows the way. His death, burial, and resurrection was a success for it gave us all eternal life.
Ahh, life is always a give and take. Some give more than they take, some take more than they give. That's life.
We must always remember that we are nothing and can do nothing without God's help. True success can only come through prayer and the instruction of the Word of God; relationship. Success is not monetary value nor is it in how many friends we have. We will never be richer than the moment we have real relationship with the Maker of all things. If my Lord calls me "Successful" then that is when I will have attained the greatest reward ever given me. All other things pale in comparison. I want to hear HIM say, "well done, thou good and faithful servant". When I have the privilege of hearing these words it is then that true success will be manifested. What He places on my head won't be "checker-board" with a tassel, but it will be an eternal crown. My robe won't be a thin zip-up piece of fabric, it will be a robe of pure white.
O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant whose desire is to fear thy name and prosper. Let me keep your Word as my guiding Light always. Thank you for everything!

Sanity
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.
It is in the stillness that the Voice will be heard, the only voice in all the universe that speaks peace to the deepest part of us. --Elizabeth Elliot
We live in a noisy world. A world filled with many distractions. As Mark Lowry's CD title says, Life Gets Loud. Indeed it does.
There have been times, I must say, when not enough comedy in the world could plaster a smile on my face, much less expel a hearty laugh from my lungs.
This world is filled with complications and frustrations, but THANKFULLY, we have a hope for the world beyond this life. If we allow the distractions of a clamorous world to separate us from God and His peace, we do ourselves a profound disservice.
To maintain righteousness and compassionate hearts we must take time each day for prayer, making our self still in the presence of God our Creator.
Focus on quieting your mind, still that racing heart, so that you may sense God's presence working in your life. His peace passes all understanding. It is sanity personified.
His peace brings about a victorious mindset to the seemingly defeated. NOTHING is more important than the time you spend with God.
Some of the most important answers you will receive from God are those that have been received in silence. Inner peace is your spiritual birthright. He paid it all, it is offered freely. I ask for peace, it is given, and then it must be shared.
Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from Him cometh my salvation (Psalm 62:1) Trust in Him at all times, ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us. Selah. (Psalm 62:8)
Sanity is the result of Prayer.

Example
Living life with a consistent spiritual walk deeply influences those we love most --Vonette Bright
I Thessalonians 4:11-12 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to do work with you own hands, as we command you; that ye may walk honestly toward them that are without and that ye may have lack of nothing.
Being the kind of person whose actions, day in and day out, are based upon kindness, faithfulness, and a love for the Lord...you are a blessing. A person like this is a powerful force for good in a world that desperately needs positive influences. It is good to do good.
Corrie ten Boom advised, "Don't worry about what you don't understand. Worry about what you do understand in the Bible but do not live by."
Hmmm. Powerful words.
I may not understand every thing, but what I do understand I want to live by. Whether or not I have a full understanding of a task, I want to study it, I want to do the work that He's bid me to do. I want to conduct my affairs the way He would be pleased with. I want an inward peace, a quietness, about me as I try to accomplish whatever He asks.
Living life is a constant, spiritual walk.

He Holds It All
If all struggles and sufferings were eliminated, the spirit would no more reach maturity than would the child. --Elisabeth Elliot
Deuteronomy 4:30:31 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter day, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; (for the Lord thy God is a merciful God:) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.
If you are like most of humanity, from time to time, you will find yourself filled with great concerns. It is simply a fact of life. We worry about health, finance, safety, relationships, family, and countless other challenges.
The best place to take all those cares to is Jesus. He can handle it all. I'm so thankful that I can go to Someone to take all my troubles and sorrows to. He has no attitude problem, no estrogen-hormonal issues, He is not filled with ego insecurities. His time-clock is endless therefore I can call Him anytime. He knows the outcome before the beginning. Thankfully there is Someone who is always the same. He remains ready to comfort and strengthen whenever we give Him the opportunity to do so.
When distress and all other hardships come, if we turn to Him, we find that He is a compassionate God. Obedience to Him is a blessing. Serving Jesus by being faithful to His call is a privilege.

A Greater Weight
II Corinthians 4:16-18 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but a the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Besides Psalm 121 this scripture above is a favorite scripture of mine.
Even when it is not well with our circumstance, it can be well, very well, with our soul. A few years ago I was introduced to a concept I had not heard before. It is called Spectator Grace. Spectator Grace is grace that is poured into the life of those that have to watch those that they love going through hard, pressing circumstances. These are the ones that sometimes actually hurt worse than those that are personally going through the circumstance. Why do I say this? Well, if those that are going through the trial are leaning into the grace of God and allowing themselves to be held by the hands of God, then they are given the sufficient grace to bear under the load which they bear. God will never put more on an individual than what can be tolerable. It certainly doesn't feel like that at times but, nevertheless, it's true. With that being said, Spectator Grace is needed for those that are close by so that they too may be able to withstand their burden for us.
Whatever we go through in this life is temporal. It is not meant to stay. It's not forever. God may never change certain circumstances, for it just might be that the circumstance is just the thing that makes us long for Heaven more. Circumstance is temporary, the soul is eternal.
I am thankful that I can know He is working out a far greater weight of glory than the weights that so easily beset me. God can change circumstances if He wants to, but I'm pretty certain He will not remove it until He sees that the circumstance has changed us into more of the reflection He would like to see in us. Whatever we go through He works it all for good. Trials are not put upon us to define us, they are put upon us to refine us.
Rest in the sufficient grace. Don't resist. One of the differences in the two words of Rest and Resist is, "I". "I don't like this....", "I think this ____ is unfair", "I don't want this ___". "I, I, I, I, I...". If we get "I" out of the way then we are able to rest in His grace.
Even though on the outside it often looks as if things are falling apart, on the inside, where God is working, not a day goes by without His unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the joy that is coming! We will not give in and quit. How could we?!
If you wait for the circumstance to change before feeling the need to sing, you just may never sing. Don't ever give in to the devil's goal for you...plug into the eternal energy source called Grace, allow the Light to shine in the darkness. You will feel renewed day by day by day...

Sickness Departure
Psalm 103:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases...
He forgives every sin
He heals all disease
He redeems your life from Hell
With Love and Mercy He crowns you
He wraps you in goodness and renews you
You are always His child.
As high as heaven is over earth, so strong is his love to those that fear Him. God makes everything right in His own due time. O my soul, Don't forget a single blessing!
Exodus 23:25 And ye shall serve the Lord your God and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water, and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
Psalm 107:20 He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions
Claim these verses! We need these kind of reminders. There are people in need of miracles. Emotional healing, physical healing, spiritual healing; God can heal ALL diseases of our well-being. God's power knows no limits. With God there are no impossibilities.
These are thoughts to ponder on: God forgives, God blesses, God delivers.
In Psalm 107 we read, He sent his word...
God has a Word for every one of us. A word fitly spoken, always in season. The verse goes on to say, "and healed them". Not only is He a God of verbal communication, He can communicate in such a way that healing virtue flows from Him. If we reach out and touch His garment, we can be made whole. How do I know this? Well, there is another verse that talks about the lady who pressed through the crowd, reaching out intentionally, and touched the Healer. She was made whole. (Sometimes victories are not easily won. It's the hard pressing victories that are most memorable).
I can also know of God's delivering power through other scriptures too. Psalms 107 goes on to say, "and delivered them from their destructions". The enemy and even our own body can turn against us and try to destroy us, BUT GOD is a deliverer! We can rest in that hope today.
Exodus 23 tells us that He will take sickness away from our midst. We could look at this verse and say, "well, He was talking about the Israelites. I'm not so sure that this verse means...me." Oh, but it does! His Word is not a word of by-gone days. We can claim God's Word for TODAY. His Word ever liveth and is eternal. We CAN claim victory for ourselves. We just have to trust Him. We have to believe in Him. We just have to be obedient to Him. God has delivered in the past and He will yet deliver!
Whatever you are going through, I want to remind you, God is there with you. He is right by your side. O yes, yes, He is! You may be in a boat appearing to be all alone, but He is a God that can walk on the water and come to you. When HE says "Peace", all that distraction will cease. Don't look at the peripheral, look into His face, those eyes, and don't fear. He is never far and He always will hear your cry, even your whisper.

A Gracious Letter From A Gracious God
Ecclesiastes 10:12 The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.
Another version says it like this: If you talk sensibly, you will have friends; if you talk foolishly, you will destroy yourself.
How true. And, how sad.
Today's promise is yet another example of how the Word of the Lord is a Teacher. We must guard our self--all of our being--for how can a fountain spring forth both fresh water and bitter water? We must have a fresh supply of God's Word every day so that it may cleanse the bitterness that wants to build up within us. His Word instructs us on how to live life each day. I'm thankful His Word is a day by day thing and not a year by year kind of thing!
The wise store up knowledge, but the mouth of the fool speeds up destruction. Proverbs 10:14; and the one who guards his mouth and tongue protects his life and keeps himself out of trouble. The one who opens his lips invites his own ruin. Proverbs 13:3, 21:23. The wise keep their soul from troubles.
Huge difference there. An evil person is caught by sin, a righteous person sings and rejoices. Proverbs 29:6 lets us know that those that walk in integrity and uprightness of heart can worship freely. I want to be a part of that group, don't you?
There is nothing like a word fitly-spoken, nor is there anything like a deed properly done. This reminds me of the age-old saying, "if you can't say anything nice, say nothing at all." There is a proper time for everything under the sun. A proper time for every word, deed, thought. And let's face it, there's just a whole lot of times when nothing needs to be said at all.
His Word teaches me that I can be angry, but I should sin not. In times where I see or feel that actions/words are done unjustly, whether to me or someone else, I need to just fervently pray! I need to talk to God who can fix it, not to someone else who has no ore in the race, so to speak. This action requires faith. Praying helps every situation. Praying helps everyone.
Lord, Calm my spirit so that Your Spirit can manifest itself. Help me to think more on things that are just, pure, and of good report. Help me to clamp the clothespin on my mouth before a perceived thought is uttered wrongfully from my lips. Help me to be wise. Your Word, Lord, is a great Teacher. Help me to be an obedient and wise student. Help me to remember to "sweep my own porch" for I need to make sure that I, myself, do not become a castaway. By Your amazing grace...In Jesus name. Amen.

A Moment To Pause & Ponder
Agape: an intentional response to promote well-being responding to that which has generated ill-being.
Selah
(pause and ponder that)
John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
John 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
A Christ-love is an attribute of Godly character which sadly is missing a great deal within our church walls. Within our self only we do not know how to express, or possess, this kind of love; but a genuine, intact relationship with God will make the way possible. I am so thankful to serve a merciful God who gives grace each day for the journey. He has provided to us the manuscript to live by, the manuscript which we all can be trained by.
Being full of the Spirit (big "S") sure helps in a lot of areas of Life. The Spirit was made flesh and dwelt among us. Jesus laid down His life for us; us, in all our weakness and shortcomings. There is no greater love than this. And THIS is how we know what Love is supposed to look like. And though we oftentimes do not, we ought to lay down our opinions (our life) for our brother and sister in the Lord. We lay down our own selfish will and love one another in spite of errors, in spite of personal conviction, in spite of opinion.
We should not slander. Genuine love, displaying Godly-character that shines from the inward parts, is such a must in this ever darkening world. Don't let the darkness inside the Church. This is why the people of God, all people of God, should shine and not be jealous if someone else seems to shine a bit brighter. The area around you will not become brighter by you snuffing out someone else's candle. Be the Light-bearer you can be. Don't worry about another's ability. Every light counts.
In John 13:34 we are told to LOVE ONE ANOTHER in the SAME WAY God loves us. The Word goes on to say that to do so is to ensure that everyone will recognize that you are God's disciple. When the world sees the love that we have for one another it's a magnetic pull that draws them to the Body of Christ. If we belittle, slander, and bicker over who is right and who is wrong, who has the best standards and who drives and lives in what, than we are no better than the world. We play right into the devil's hand. Instead of shining Light, instead, we enable the darkness to prevail.
Agape: This word does not have specific religious connotation, but has been used by various contemporary and ancient sources. Many have thought this word represents divine, unconditional, self-sacrificing, active, and thoughtful love. Agape-Love is a love that is intentional. It is an action which promotes well-being IN SPITE OF the ill-will act of someone else. It is a measure of love that we all must work at on a daily basis.
Love never gives up
Love cares more for others than for self
Love does not want what it does not have
Love does not strut
Love does not gloat
Love does not force itself
Love does not "fly off the handle"
Love does not keep score of the wrongs of others
Love does not revel when others grovel
Love takes pleasure in the flowering of truth
Love puts up with anything
Love makes us trust God always
Love always looks for the positive
Love never looks back, but keeps going to the end.
There are those that make it hard for us to love them. There are those that do not really know how to love or love in return, but love them anyway. It is a daily work we must all do. Thank God for scripture which balances the emotional scale.
If you knew today would be your last day on earth, how would you live it? If we really believed that "Tomorrow may never come", we all would be a little more careful. I remember back a few years ago when 3 of my daughter's family members passed away within a 4 week period. NEVER take a day for granted. Never take one another for granted. Never take the Church for granted (it's bigger than the members you attend with). Love your neighbor as yourself. If you do this you will live more peaceably and with a lot less regret. (Matthew 22:37-40)
Never miss an opportunity to say, "I love you".
Remember: Intentionally promote positivism in an ill-willed, negative environment. There is time for love any time, any place. (even for our perceived enemies)

Still Clothed, Ya'll :)
Every had days when you felt you were coming unraveled? A day, when at the end of the day, you wanted to holler, "THANK GOD ABOVE it wasn't any worse and now it's bed time!!".
REMEMBER: Satan is a LIAR and God is GOOD! Trusting the Master with all the details in every circumstance is crucial to sanity. Don't let the devil lie to you. God alone has all authority.
His mercies fail not, they are new every morning.
Isaiah 41:6, 10 They helped every one his neighbor; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage...(then the Lord speaks, saying) FEAR THOU NOT; for I am with thee: Be not dismayed; for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
I am so thankful for the encouragement of family, friends, and neighbors..and most of all, the faithful encouragement of a loving God. Thank you, Jesus, for giving me these scriptures this day!

You can give without loving, but you can't love without giving
Thank you for giving unto the Lord. Thank you for loving the Lord. Your encouragement, your prayers, your friendship, your love; all has been priceless! Thank You! I am a life that is changed because of you. I am glad you came into my life. However you came, thank God you did. Some leave footprints forever.
When peace like a river attendeth my way and storm-like sea billows roll...whatever my lot Thou hast taught me to say, "It is well, It is well with my soul".
Isaiah 40:29-31 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
I am not running around like a crazy, mad woman. I'm still clothed in sanity, ya'll. Thank God for peace that is attainable even when it seems that it's nowhere in sight. I trust in the Miracle Worker!

Strength In The Heart
"We may run, walk, stumble, or fly, but let us never lose sight of the reason for the journey, or miss a chance to see a rainbow on the way." --Gloria Gaither
Psalm 31:24 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord
As I sit here and think about all those that are in troubles/perils/hardships, I am made more aware that we should never lose sight of the One that holds it all. He is the Anchor in all the twist and storms of life--metaphorically and literally. He is the one thing that holds us fast, anchors us, when all other things become destroyed, broken, and seemingly forsaken. He is a true Refuge.
Absolutely NOTHING is really ours. All good things are blessings from above. Our house, our lands, our children, our friends, family, jobs, etc., all is His. He is the one that loans us everything. He has all control, we are only to be good stewards of those things which He has given. We need never feel like "we've made things happen" or that "we've arrived". Keep humble. In one fell swoop all can be wiped out, swept away from us.
The rainbow in life is this: HOPE. Because of the awesome presence of God in our life we have a huge opportunity to grasp and cling to this strong hope. It is ours for the taking, so why not?? Through this hope we can be courageous in mind and emotionally strong regardless of whatever betides us. God never leaves and He never forsakes. He is the only constant in our life and He never "shakes in His boots".
I am so thankful for Him. I am so grateful that I know Him. I am blessed to be known of Him. In many people's estimations I do not have much, but I feel like I am a millionaire. I have a RICH Friend--Jesus. God has provided everything that I need. Anything else He would give, should He provide that too, is just a bonus. I have a roof up above me, a good place to sleep, I have food on my table, shoes on my feet. He's given me His love and a fine family to call my own. I thank Him for all His blessings on me. As far as I am concerned, a hot dog I eat might as well be a rib-eye steak. It fills the belly; therefore, to me, it makes no difference. Be content in what thou hast. There are a lot of people, even in America, who have less or nothing for dinner. Be thankful.
Real joy does not come in accumulation of material possessions, or how many "trophies" I can call mine, but real joy is by the King of kings. Godliness with contentment really is great gain!! I only pray that I can do good service to Him with what He has given. All I need, Lord, is more of you!
Be Blessed today, ya'll. Count every blessing, naming them one by one. If you do this, pretty soon you will find that you really don't need anything else. :-)

Applying Scripture to Practical Living
When life is hard, what do you do?
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me
What do you do? You have faith. End of sentence. Faith. It's the starting point for success.
Having faith in God, the One who has already conquered it all, is a sure-footed way to know that your life really does have purpose, and with a little application from you it will be fulfilled, and all will be well because HE makes it well. Because you live each day resting in assurance of God's love and faithfulness to you then you know that God will do everything to empower you to get what needs done, DONE!
Let's apply this scripture to practical life.
This scripture came to mind as I was trying to remove my Master Suite box-springs and mattress from home. By myself. At least I was physically by myself anyway. :-) (Jesus is always with me.)
A brand new box springs, mattress, and mattress cover was coming. To say it as mildly as I can, Excitement was in the air! I had been sleeping on the same mattress for decades and it was time for something new. Having bounced it around in my head for weeks about this very possibility and also having a brief conversation with my daughter just the night before about this want/need, when I received "the blessing call" I knelt beside my bed and tears filled my eyes. So Grateful. Again I was reminded that I am not alone. God is ever watchful. Ever the hearer of silent prayers and He is a wonderful provider.
I just had to remove the old to provide way for the new.
The struggle was REAL, people. But, I did it.
Big beads of sweat on my brow (and yes, my home is air conditioned) and bulging muscles (well, that's what I envision anyway - ha!), I got those big, bulky things off my bed frame and twisted, pushed, and pulled them around the tight corners and small hallway, thru the living room and out the front door.
God gave me strength...and patience.
Un-beknown to me, the neighbors, who are soon to be a family of 8, were in need of a box springs and mattress. The father of the family met me in the yard, inquired about it, and with a big grin and laugh stated, "we will take them. We were just looking for a bigger mattress!"
Timing is everything.
Knowing this family does not have much and knowing the size of their family, I knew they too were being blessed. I let them have it all. The box-springs. The mattress. The mattress cover.
I've had tougher moments than trying to wrestle a mattress. Of course I have. And I know you have too. But, this moment just affirmed to me that life and scripture go together. Scripture is applicable to daily living. It gives the measure we need to "go on".
I'm grateful for the blessings of God. I don't want to know what life is without Him actively in it. The struggle may be really hard. I totally get it, Trials ARE hard. Life may throw some things our way that by our self is an impossibility, BUT GOD...He gives strength for all things.
Happy Monday!

Joy: The Life To Dry Bones
JOY is a by-product not of happy circumstances, education, or talent, but of a healthy relationship with GOD and a determination to love Him no matter what --Barbara Johnson
Psalm 51:8, Make me to know joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
In essence David says, "Lord, I know I am taking my punishment right now, but allow me to know the wisdom of it, allow me understanding. I pray that I be glad that you love me enough to take the time for correction."
David is the perfect example of humanity and when we read his life we also read the perfect example of the love of God.
Because of the errors I have made in life, I have been greatly aware of how human I am, and also made aware of my need of Him. I need God always, every day of my life. In the hustle and bustle of life I find myself forfeiting, temporarily, the joy of the Lord. As a wrestle with the challenges of daily living I pray I will be endowed with power from on High, and that I can carry out the plan He has for me.
Joy delivers that power to every crevice of my soul, mind, and body. There is a verse in Psalm 100 that reminds me to WORSHIP the LORD with GLADNESS. It's an act of gratefulness. And, to me, Worship is just that, an act of gratefulness. It can't be performed any other way.
I read somewhere recently that a woman is doing God's service when her joy is clearly evident to her friends and family. If that woman starts to feel discouraged, or worse, it's time to slow down and have a quiet conversation with her Creator.
How true this is! When my heart has been heavy I have turned to Him, and He has filled me with joy and peace all over again. He never promised me that He would change all the circumstances of life, but He did promise great peace and pure joy. I must learn to believe that God actually controls all things, for if I believe this, pure joy and great peace will be the benefit.
Life is beautiful now
Flying way up on the clouds
OH, OH OH
Life is beautiful now...
I have sunshine on a cloudy day
And when it's cold outside
It feels like the month of May
I guessed you'd say, What can make me feel this way?
My Lord, talkin' bout my Lord
My Lord, My Lord. Ohhhoohh!
:-D Gotta love it! If you have joy than share it freely! His love along with His joy should be shared in our hearts. Have a wonderful day, and like me, dig really deep into the joy of your salvation today. Let it be a well springing up into overflowing. I want my cup of joy not to be a thimble, but a Route 44!!!

My Mountain In The Plane
Psalm 144:1-2 Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight. My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.
I wonder why God cares so much? Why does He bother with us at all, especially at our worst? Made from dirt, as a shadow and a puff of air, we are, yet He calls us His children. What a wonderful Father. What GREAT love He has bestowed upon us. It is the wonder of all wonders. How BLESSED we are!
David, the Psalmist, said "Blessed be God, my mountain, who trains me to fight fair and well. He is the bedrock I stand on, the castle in which I live, my rescuing knight, the high crag, (a deep rugged mass of rock projecting upward or outward) where I run for dear life, while he lays my enemies low."
My God knows all the playing field. He made the planes, the valleys, the mountains, the meadows, the hills...He knows each and every one. The Plane is the enemy's favorite ground on which to fire his most hurtful darts. You see, he thinks there is no where for us to take cover. But I say, when all is flat and becomes level around me, and there seems to be no where I can take cover, my Mountain is there! The Mountain, my God, is ever present. My God is the Mountain I run to when all else around me is in complete chaos.
We are soldiers in the army of the Lord. Yes, oh yes, we are! And, we fight well. Sometimes, for me though, the war is too much. I don't know if it is this way for you, but sometimes I don't know what decision needs to be made next. The battle rages on and on and my surroundings are so LOUD. This is when I find that the greatest weapon I have on is that weapon called PRAYER.I need a quiet place, so I go to the Rock. I talk with Him. He quiets me even as the battle rages. With Him as my Rock, I and everything that concerns me, is protected. Whatever, whoever would pursue me, to take hold on me harmfully, has a steep and rugged climb ahead of them; and all through the climb there are projections, uneven terrain...dangers for them. I am hidden, safely and quietly, in the cleft of the Rock. Whoever and Whatever would dare to desire to harm me would do well to change their "game plan", to forsake their cause, but if they choose to pursue on...BEWARE! :-)
All things are under my Lord's feet. I run to Him and He fights for me. I trust Him. Blessed be the Lord my strength!

For Future Generations
Psalm 102:18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord.
What if we had not the writings of the Old Testament?? The promises of God's faithfulness in Holy Writ? How dull, lifeless, boring that life would be.
It is an awesome thought that we, today, could impact a generation that is not even born yet! What a concept!
Even more, What a responsibility!!!
Our writing today could impact somebody generations from now to praise GOD. Think about it!
I used to be really good at, faithful, at the task of journal-writing. Then there came a time in my life when even I didn't want to write/re-read the stories I had to tell. This verse challenges me though. I challenges me to start keeping a journal again. A journal that tells of God's faithfulness. A journal of Answered Prayers. I could focus on the goodness of God and tell of the triumphs through the bit of struggle that I have had. Write them down...so that the future generations may know what an awesome God HE was to their "Granny". I should start writing down stories of God's faithfulness to my little family that I'm blessed to have. How He's answered prayers for us. How He daily showers us with benefits. I could write of the daily miracles of life. A miracle doesn't always have to be that the deaf and mute finally hear and speak, but a miracle could be that God gave me the strength just to face the day, to triumph over certain fears, to praise in the chaos.
It's the little things that most often turn out to be the big things.
Write for the future generations, that a people not yet created may praise the Lord. Future generations will come---if the Lord tarries---and they need to know of God's faithfulness, love and miracles. They may never get to meet you, but by your writings they will get to know you and that God and His miracles are really real-life!
It doesn't have to be PERFECT to be BEAUTIFUL

What God's Servant Can Expect
Isaiah 54:1 Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear: break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the Lord.
Even if the mountains walk away and the hills fall to pieces, His love won't walk away from us. His covenant commitment of peace won't fall apart. The God who has compassion on us says so! :-) If anyone attacks you, don't for a moment suppose that God sent them, and if they should attack, nothing will come of it. Our God created the destroyer...BUT...No weapon that has been formed against you shall prosper. In court the accuser will be dismissed as a liar.
God calls us to have joy in every circumstance.
He is with us!!! Jehovah God reigns and He loves us with an everlasting love.
I'm thankful for God's Word--the love notes He sends are eternal. I am so thankful for the messages He gives. In this verse (above) He is letting the heartbroken know that He is still with them, and that He has a greater plan He is still working out on their behalf.
He calls us to sing, even in grief. SO hard to do, but with God all things are possible. God gives hope in the midst of the storm. In another translation of scripture this verse is translated like this: "Sing, barren woman, who has never had a baby. Fill the air with song, you who've never experienced childbirth! You're ending up with far more children than all those childbearing women." God says so!
If you continue reading the passage, the verses let us know that no matter what it looked like for the children of Israel, God called His people to take action and to be a part of the plan He had for them. He called them to clear the ground and make room for their tents; making lots of elbow room for the growing family. He told them to make the tents large, to spread out, to think big, to use plenty of rope, and drive the tent pegs deep! God let them know that they would be part of an establishment. He told them not to be afraid, nor embarrassed; not to hold back, for they would not come up short. He told them they'd forget the humiliation of their youth, and the memory of their widowhood would fade away.
Verse 8: It's with an everlasting love that He tenderly cares for us.
This is what God's servants can expect...the giving of an expected end. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Direction
Proverbs 20:24 Man's goings are of the Lord; how can a man then understand his own way?
The Lord directs our steps, so why do we try to understand everything along the way? As I've walked this journey called Life I have failed miserably in trying not to lean on my own understanding. I have a problem of trying to figure my life out.
Have you ever done this?
I feel best when I have had to just simply, trust.
Trusting in the unseen hand that is guiding me is the remedy for less anxiety. I know He guides me for I seek after His guidance, and I long for His companionship. I know that He is always there for me because He told me He'd never leave me nor ever forsake me. He isn't a promise-breaker.
The NLT translation describes verse 25 like this: Don't trap yourself by making rash promise to God and only later counting the cost.
This scripture brings to mind a couple of times where I spoke to God in desperation, petitioning Him for a certain situation, only now to feel that I am counting the cost. I for sure know that I made one promise that has dearly cost me.
And you see, there I go again trying to understand everything along the way concerning my journey.
God doesn't desire that we be "empty-headed", not have enlightenment or any learning. He gave us a brain, didn't He? :-) The brain is extremely important to the body. Pretty much all function of the body ultimately derives from brain function. But, I also believe that the brain wasn't only put in our heads for bodily function, it was put there for intelligence as well. The brain is our memory bank.
I want to put as much knowledge about God into my memory bank as I possibly can. I don't have to understand everything there is to know about Him, I don't have to understand all there is concerning the matters of my life, but I am encouraged to get to know Him better; to have relationship with my Creator. Through it all, all the life that Life brings our way, there is a a a purpose. The purpose is to learn to trust in God.
He means everything to me. I don't know what He's doing in my world, but as long as I feel His touch, and throughout my days, carry the knowledge that He will never forsake, I know that I will be all right.
Trusting Jesus is all that really matters.
I'm glad I was given the opportunity to know the Master, the One that knows it all. Aren't you??

Mercy Days
Isaiah 30:18 And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the Lord is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
In reading this passage it was impressed upon my heart God's timing is crucial and His timing should always win out. It is in the resting that we can be saved from anguish of mind. Saved from unintended heartache. Strength is in the quietness and confidence.
So oftentimes we want our desire met "here and now" and God may be telling us to wait. Sometimes we feel He is even choosing not to listen to our petition. In our free-will we attain the desire only to later realize that it really wasn't for our best interest. At least, maybe, for that segment of time. It is in these moments that God sometimes will show us His greatest mercies...not giving us what we deserve. And even if we do "reap what we sow", He shows compassion for us even in the reaping. Though we be filled with the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, God allows us understanding in the lesson.
Who knows but what the anguish days of this life is really His mercies in disguise? What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know He is near? The Lord is a just God--full of judgment--and each day we arise, His compassion is new. Great is His faithfulness. He is a wise decision maker.
When we allow our self to confidently believe that God loves us and wants the best for us, and quietly listen, then we can hear the voice of God in our ear telling us, "This is the way, turn here. See, I am working it all out. Walk this way." (Is. 30:21)

Jesus Is Driving My Train
Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
It is good to trust the Lord! Trust in the good times. Trust in the bad. Moment by moment, day by day, TRUST in Him.
It is during the difficult days that we must find the wisdom and the courage to trust our Heavenly Father. Despite circumstance, He is trust-worthy.
This scripture reminds me to wait patiently for my God. Thank you, Jesus, for this reminder.
Trusting God with everything is important, and this includes HIS timing. We should trust God to decide the best time for things to happen. Sometimes it is hard to trust, but it is always the right thing to do.
"When the train goes through a tunnel and the world becomes dark, do you jump out? Of course you don't. You sit still and trust the engineer to get you through."--Corrie ten Boom
Waiting patiently for Him pays off! Jesus is driving my train and I am Heaven bound.

Touched To Perfection
Matthew 14:36 And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole
As you go about your day, you can talk to God. He know your thoughts anyway, so voice them. Prayer is communication.
For several years after my divorce I used my ex-husband's Bible. I have very sentimental reasons for keeping it. I used it at church and as an extra here at home, and now it is in safe keeping for further generations. (yes, I think about that kind of stuff. lol)
One day I broke open the Book and the scripture, above, was right there for the feeding of my spirit. By the way, the Word of God is rich and powerful, edible.
My husband must have used this Bible somewhere between the years of 1999 and 2001, maybe. On the margin of the page, in his hand writing, is written: The Touch of the Master . It was a message preached by Bro. Darien Housch.
For whatever reason, probably because I am very sentimental, whenever I come across these little margins, my heart always melts just a little. Oh, what God would have loved to fully make whole....
My friend, when life has given you some painful experiences, when you are feeling so low and very melancholy....Touch HIS garment. Don't wallow in the misery. Talk to the Master about all the cracks in your armor. He will restore and make it all look brand new.
God makes lives PERFECTLY whole. It just oftentimes takes some EFFORT on our own part to see that it happens.
Happy Wednesday to all.

God's Line is Never Busy
Psalm 31:23-24 O love the Lord, all ye his saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer. Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.
Thanking the name above all names today! Jesus is the most beautiful name I know. God is gracious, merciful, compassionate, and all powerful. There is power in His name! It does not matter if it is shouted from the roof-tops or whispered in a barely audible voice, the name of the Lord is powerful. Just the whisper of His name can make mountains move! No matter what is happening in the lives of His saints, all the saints are encouraged to love Him.
He takes care of all, but especially those who stay close to Him. He pays back all those who are arrogant enough to 'go it alone'; those that do it their way. How do I know? Well, I've been in both "seats", as it were, therefore I know. :-)
Pay-backs are tough! It's always worth it to stay humble. Through it all though, God is merciful. He takes the repentant heart and calls it to be brave, strong, and to never give up.
At all times God is everywhere, but sometimes we can feel that He is far away. I want to encourage you today. Expect God to come to the rescue. He is right beside you, always near. He may have you on hold, but don't hang up! Wait patiently for Him. He will get back to you. And, all the while, He is working His plan in your life. He may be answering someone else's call right now, but He still has got you on His mind. He never fails! He protects the faithful.
Be brave. Be strong. Stand still. See the salvation of the Lord fulfilled in your life.

No Matter What
There is an old saying that has somewhat become cliche'.
What A Difference A Day Makes!
Wow! What a difference a day really CAN make! I'm glad to serve a just, true and living God. A God who is active in His children's lives. His mercies a NEW every morning.
When you go to bed and can't sleep for all the thoughts roaming through your mind, read the Bible. I especially like the Psalms. Psalms is just the place to go when you need soothing ballads played to a bruised heart.
Psalm 136:1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications
Psalm 136:3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
Psalm 136:8-9 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling. I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living
Psalm 136:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints
Psalm 136:19...PRAISE YE THE LORD.
We never want to feel pains of loss. We never want to feel fear. We never want to hurt. I don't know, nor do I understand, the ways of God, but it is in times such as these that I am thankful that understanding them is not a requirement. I don't have to know the outcome. I don't know the future. Thankfully, HE does.
I leave all in HIS hands. God has all wisdom and holds all power. I am praying for, hoping for, longing for a Psalm 136:8-9 for us all and no matter what, I KNOW that God hears and answers prayers. Whatever His wishes are, it is well.
I will offer unto Thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and I will call upon the name of the Lord. Praise ye the Lord!

Strength
Psalm 89:24 But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
Via a little research I have found that Horn symbolizes strength (in this verse here).
So thankful God makes promises, aren't you?
Through God's faithful love, mercy, and great name I have found that my strength can be called victorious. The scripture: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me, can be applicable to a life in today's world!! It truly can. It's not ancient scripture, it is HIS Word for all generations. It is a Word that is timeless. God is so good.
We are never without strength. That was established within us from the beginning. However, it can be, or feel, depleted. So blessed to know God's promise. In the name of Jesus I can be lifted up above that which I feel able. I know there will be more battles to fight. How do I know? Because I know the devil will never stop. BUT, through JESUS, battles are won and with every victory, the war can eventually be won! By leaning into His strength and applying that to the strength He has already supplied me, I can daily be victorious. I don't want to ever feel that I can accomplish anything without Christ. He means everything to me. He is the reason why I breathe, the reason I can sing. I know I could not make it through one day without Jesus in my life. I love, truly love, Him so much.
When we can't trust our own heart, we can trust His!
I am thankful, so very humbled, for the wonderful days I and my daughter have experienced through the years. God can truly make beauty in ashes, even as we wait for the ashes to be transformed into beauty. He can make sad hearts burst with joy! Through every experience that has taken place concerning my home (aka: my little family) I have learned how trustworthy leaning on the Savior is. He gives so much peace that, quite simply, blows my mind! His peace truly is past human comprehension. I am so thankful I have allowed myself to lean into, and be held by, the peace He gives.
GREAT is HIS faithfulness!

Opposing The Natural Instinct
Proverbs 25:21-22 If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink. For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the Lord shall reward thee.
Enemy: One who feels hatred toward, intends injury to, or opposes the interest of another; a foe; Something destructive or injurious in its effects.
If you see your enemy hungry, go buy him lunch; if he is thirsty, bring him a drink.
Say WHAT?! It really goes against the grain sometimes to do this, doesn't it? (ok, I guess I'm showing how human I really am. *sigh) However, the scriptures always speak truth and I do have to say that when I've done the above, God has always seen me through.
It is hard sometimes to be nice, genteel, and to put it simply...be a Christian...to someone I feel is so outward about opposing my interest; especially when it comes to Godly things. I easily feel justified in my anger (and perhaps, hatred) toward the individual.
But, we really can do all things through Christ, can't we? :-) Generosity surprises those that know they don't deserve it. Often times it fills them with the "warm-fuzzies" aka: goodness, and it would seem that the wrong is rewarded, but the giver and receiver both now better. Both parties can end up with that glow-in-the-dark fuzzy feeling! Forgiveness wins. :-)
God looks after those that obey His Word. He will see to it that the deed was worth your time.
I believe God wants us to be reminded again of these words of scripture. In fact, I know He does. There is way, way too much hate in the world. It is a time, an opportunity, as never before the Bride of Christ to shine. I don't know what the future holds, but I know the GOD that holds all things. Not one thing slips from His hands. He is the MASTER of the wind and the Anchor of the soul. He can, and often times will, calm the storm and make the sun shine again. In the meantime, while the storm--the unjustness--prevails, be calm, rest in HIS encouragement, and the courage to conquer the war(s) within you by applying the comfort of scriptures such as this to your life and someone else's.
I dare to think where I would be today had His love not been freely given. If I need an example regarding the way I should conduct myself all I have to do is look to the Cross. (ponder that)
The desperate, humble prayer of my humanity is: GOD, HELP ME!!!
He never fails to do so.

Turn Around??! No Way!
Matthew 19: 23-26, Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again, I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. When his disciples heard it they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
I am so thankful that God has made a way in which I can be saved. Living for God is doable! The way may be strait and narrow, but if I continue to walk in it, I have much less chance of having room enough to turn around.
Imagine: a path with protective walls around you. The path is narrow, the position you are in is one of difficulty, perplexity, distress, or need. The space you have been given affords little room or space; it is rather confined. To turn around you would have to press your hands against the walls and inch by precious inch start turning your feet in the opposite direction. The confinement causes the task to take a longer time than anticipated. Whew!, finally, you have turned sideways, you can swivel your head and see the path behind and the path ahead of you. Is it worth the effort to turn in the direction in which you came or the direction you were going??
That is what strait and narrow is.
To make the complete turn in this condition, takes more effort than just stedfastly continuing on where He leads. To turn around within the protective walls He has for us, we would have to really be determined to "have it our way".
I know what is behind me. And while I don't know all that is ahead of me, I sure don't want the heartache and strife I have left behind. I don't want to go back. I want a heart that sings the song, "where He leads I will follow...I'll go with Him all the way." The path sometimes seems dark, scary, and difficult, but I have the Light of the world by my side and His hand is holding mine. The hand, that nail-scarred hand, is holding my hand, that hand that His precious, cleansing blood ran from is holding onto me. Together we are going places!!!
What a victorious thought!
Remember: If He takes us to it, He will lead us through it!
Trust/Faith is the key that unlocks the door. With God all things are possible---especially your salvation.

With All That Is Within Me
Psalm 103:1-6, Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget all his benefits. Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; who satifieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagles. The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
From head to toe, I will bless His holy name. With all that is within me I will bless the holy name of the Lord. He is good and His mercies are from everlasting to everlasting. I don't want to forget a single blessing that He has bestowed upon me. He has forgiven my sins, every one of them. He has healed all my diseases. He has redeemed me from the pit of Hell. He has saved my life from destruction. Daily His love and mercy encircles me. One day I shall live with Him in Paradise.
Paradise: the place where no heartache shall be and no sickness reigns.
Paradise: the place where not a single tear shall dim the eye or trickle down the cheek.
His goodness is in the present and is eternal.
In His presence I soar as an eagle. In His presence is where my strength is renewed. Oh that I could run like a deer and leap over a wall. He is my light and my salvation. WHOM SHALL I FEAR? The Lord is the strength of my life, there should be no one that makes me afraid.
God, our God, is the only One who can make everything come out right; He puts victims back on their feet. He encamps around about those that put their trust in Him and that love Him. He is an anchor in a stormy sea. The waves billow, but the sea-bed is unmoved. There, on the foundation of the billowing waves, is where my stability lies. There is no place too deep, no place too high, no place too dark that He is not there. Great is His faithfulness--and thanks be to God it is unto all generations!

Spillage On The Saucer
My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer. Thou are fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever. Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty. And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness: and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things. Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee. Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore, God hath annointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
Psalm 45:2 Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips; therefore God hath blessed thee forever.
I have provided the following words from another translation regarding this passage of scripture below:
My heart burst its bank, spilling beauty and goodness. I pour it out in a poem to the king, shaping the river into words; "You're the handsomest of men; every word from your lips is sheer grace, and God has blessed you, blessed you so much. Strap your sword to your side, warrior! Ride on the side of truth! Ride for the righteous meek! "Your instructions are glow-in-the-dark; you shoot sharp arrows into enemy hearts; the king's foes lie down in the dust, beaten. "Your throne is God's throne, ever and always; The scepter of your royal rule measures right living. You love the right and hate the wrong. And that is why God, your very own God, poured fragrant oil on your head, marking you out as king from among your dear companions.
It is my desire that I be as the warrior for God that is described above. To be gracious...To ride on the side of truth..To ride properously...To love Truth...To hate evil...To be anointed by the King of all kings.
God has indeed blessed me, but I would desire that my cup be filled to overflowing. Not just in my present life and circumstance, but spiritually as well. God can do the impossible but He's also a Gentleman. He's not going to stay where He's not entreated. I don't want to limit God. I want all that He has for me. I shall have power that I may be able to embrace and be able to withstand the blessing. To walk in His anointing takes grace. If my cup is too small, I want to have a saucer under it, so that I won't lose any of the blessing as I go find a larger container! :-)

A Rash Is Worse Than An Itch
Proverbs 19:2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
Another translation says it like this: Enthusiasm without knowledge is no good; haste makes mistakes.
Some goals take a lot of planning, a lot of time. We must have all the facts or conditions laid out before us in order to properly make a decision. We need to have gained familiarity through experience or association, ourselves, before we go forward with devotion to certain causes, and especially when it comes to other people. To have zeal, enthusiastic devotion to a cause or goal, is good; but zeal can not properly work alone. Zeal has a tendency to overstep its bounds. Zeal should be more like a co-worker, working with knowledge, not without it. Knowledge is the thing that keeps Zeal from making a demise of the goal, the plan, and keeps Zeal within boundaries. The enthusiasm, the want to--Zeal--is what keeps us motivated and diligent to further the goal that is set before us, but we must have the facts as well. We must be familiar with the facts of the matter before over-eagerly acting upon and heading into action. And, even WITH the knowledge, all the factual evidence, sometimes it's just best to apply the breaks on zeal. We can't be hasty in our decision. Haste makes waste.
I've made too many many mistakes already in life. Help me, Lord, to take into account all the facts regarding areas of life, so that I don't make rash decision or conclusions and end up looking like a fool. Help me to be ever so careful, especially from here forward, that I don't be characterized as someone whose life is a result from ill-considered haste or boldness. Help me to slow down enough that I may be taught by You and gain understanding.
God has a plan for each of our lives. Our zeal and knowledge must work hand in hand. And above all, God said, for I know the plans I have for you...
God has the plan. Carefully consider one another. Don't be hasty with each other. It is God who has the blueprint of every life. He is the architect, the artist, the refiner; NOT us. Let's allow Him to perfect each of us to fit the plan HE has. GOD has a goal in mind for each and every one of us, so let us allow each other the space and time we need in order to be molded by HIS hands and let us always, never cease, to show love and be in prayer for one another.
And in my little country way, allow me to say it like this: Don't be a'itch'n to fix someone cause ya just may cause a rash!
Happy weekend! :)

God Has A Plan
"Like a shadow declining swiftly...away...like the dew of the morning gone with the heat of the day; like the wind in the treetops, like a wave of the sea, so are our lives on earth when seen in the light of eternity." -Ruth Bell Graham
As we endure the hardships of life we must be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. (II Tim 2:1-2) Our life here is a preparation for a far different life to come! In our humanness we try to dig deep and put roots down; our actions trying to foretell our future. In reality, we are here and yet we are not meant to stay here. God's plans for us are not limited to the ups and downs of every day life. Our heavenly Father has bigger things in mind. Had He not chosen to robe Himself in flesh and walk among us, we might feel removed from a distant Creator. BUT our God is not a distant God. Our God is one who understands far better than we ever could the essence of what it means to be human. He understands our hopes and our fears. He understands temptations. He understands the meaning of anger and the cost of forgiveness. He knows the conscience, the heart, and the soul of every human being who ever lived, including you.
As we struggle in the hardships and the occasional disappointments of life, we must remember that God has invited us to His abundance. It is ours for today and eternity. We must take heart and keep things in perspective. We have the occasional defeats of this world, but we have all eternity promised us to celebrate the ultimate victory.
II Timothy 1:12, ...for I know in whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day
When I woke up this morning, I felt rather melancholy. I woke from a rather stupid, aggravating dream and the blaring of the alarm clock. It wasn't a moment filled with peace, as you can well imagine. I also was thinking about my friend, Leah. She is to have a major surgery in the morning and I can't be there. Almost immediately from the time my feet hit the floor a song came to mind. That song is by The Greenes (which is a whole other touching story in itself). If I'm not mistaken the title of the song is: When God Has Another Plan. It is a song that is meant to give hope. It is a song that is meant to bring hope and be sung throughout the hardships of life.
When God has another plan, Just hold on and say "Yes", When God has another plan, Be assured that He knows best, When all your dreams have shattered, Rest in His sufficient grace, You don't have to understand, When God has another plan.
It is really a beautiful song. So as I stood there facing the mirror, trying to do my hair and look presentable for the day, I found myself trying to figure out the meaning to all the emotions I had awoken to. I still haven't quite figured it out. *shrugs*, it's a good thing I know (and trust) the One who knows and holds it all.
I am fully persuaded and have believed that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him. I understand that His ways are not my ways. I'm just a small piece of the bigger plan, and I want to be in His hands, allowing Him to place me where He sees that I fit best. He's the Master Artist.
He has a plan and I am fully persuaded that it is a good one!

Please Wait
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
What would happen if instead of us wanting to be in control all the time, we would let go and allow God to be in control?
We all remember the day and hour that we experienced a move of the LORD in our life. People remember those moments when the Spirit of God comes sweeping in a service and they left the building feeling renewed in strength! We remember the night we came in weary and God renewed the zeal to keep moving, pressing forward in the battle.
The song that comes to mind right now is:
They that wait
Upon the Lord
Shall renew their strength.
They shall mount up with wings as eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint,
Teach me Lord,
Teach me Lord to wait.
To me this is a song filled with promise. A song of hope. God knows the perfect time for everything. Ecclesiastes 3:1, To every thing there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heaven...
This passage goes on to describe the diverse areas of life when changes must happen. We must continually wait on Him! He is the source of our strength through every situation we face. Who knows but what He may have chosen this particular Season...to season you?
When it's all said and done, if you've held onto God, you will come out on the other side, BETTER. After all, a diamond was at one time just a lump of coal.
Why do we feel it's our right to complain (at times I too have been so guilty!), or whine that God has somehow lost track of us, or doesn't care what happens to us?? Shouldn't we know better? Haven't we been listening? God doesn't get tired out. He doesn't have to pause to catch his breath. He knows everything, inside and out. He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to those that would be called "dropouts". We all can tire and choose to drop out. Young and Old alike feeling they're in their prime can stumble and fall. But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar, so they can do the task they've been called unto.
FLY ON!!!
(Don't ever say: "I'll get you for that! Wait for God. He will settle the score. -Proverbs 20:22)

Spiritual Antiseptic
Philippians 2:14-16 Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
Be a breath of fresh air for someone today...Perhaps even to yourself. I don't know about you, but sometimes my attitude smells like last week's halitosis. I need a good brushing up and cleaning of God's Listerine. Yea, in times of which is described above I need an antiseptic. And, there is no more powerful antiseptic than a good dose of the Holy Ghost!
This world is filthy, but if we shine brightly as Christ would desire us to, then just maybe our brightness would blind, take away, drown out, the chaos and filth around us. At least to the point that it's not contaminating our spirit. The Holy Ghost provides this. We should never allow our self to add to the mess, the chaos. We being the salt of the earth should be able to provide an unmistakeable flavoring (salt can be a good cleaning agent as well). Our light so shining that it provides people, those individuals within the church and without, a glimpse of good living and of the living God! By our word and action we need to carry the light of this glorious message into this dark world...where there seems to be no light of day...so that God has good cause to be proud of us on the day of His return. Let us go into the world in-corrupted by self, bad attitude, misgivings, or our murmurings. Let us do everything readily and cheerfully..no bickering, no second-guessing allowed! Let's be a breath of fresh air in this polluted society.
How 'bout it?
Be living proof that our spiritual ancestors didn't go to all the labor they went through for naught! Especially Jesus Christ. His presence is joy unspeakable and full of glory. That thought alone puts a smile on my face right now!
If you need to, feel free to come join me...I'm headed to the spiritual medicine cabinet, gonna grab me some mouthwash so I can smile brightly and be able to say 'a word in season' to someone today.
Psalm 51:7-10 Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean. Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness, that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; And renew a right spirit within me. (ASV)
**As time permits I have been going through old writings. So as to let go of some of my "paper weight" I will be posting some of those here** Today's post was originally written November 28, 2011.

Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; And renew a right spirit within me. (ASV)

That We May Rejoice!
**As time has permitted I have been going through some of my old writings. So as to let go of my "paper weight" I will be posting those here**
Today's post originally written December 1, 2011
Psalm 90:14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy: that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Teach us, all of us, Lord, to live wise as a serpent, yet be harmless as doves, living to satisfy You! Oh Lord, teach me to live well!
When I feel too alone, please come quick! Come to my aid, help me. Treat me, your servant, with kindness. When each day breaks anew and fresh, surprise me with the gift of Your steadfast love that I shall feel renewed and be able to skip and dance all day long. Oh Lord, make up some of those bad times with some good times. Allow your servant to see what YOU are best at...the ways YOU rule and bless YOUR children!
You know the way I take. Bring about the truth of what I am, establish me. Dispel any doubts that others may have about me. Confirm the report that the work I do is indeed true; that I am genuine. Let Your inspiring love and affection rest upon me. Settle me, give me peace for the journey. Amen.
Just felt to write this today as a little prayer to the Savior. Hope someone can be uplifted, encouraged, and feel renewed by it. May you feel God's mercy today. Reach for the promise that His Word says. His mercies are new every morning! Great is His faithfulness!!!
MERCY: the compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one's power to punish or harm.
FAITHFULNESS: adhering firmly and devotedly to someone, cause, or idea.
ADHERE: stick fast to a surface or substance, believe in and follow the practices of.
Our God is full of compassion and forgiveness. He is devoted to us. He sticks closer than a brother. He believes in you, my sister! He leads you, He follows you, He walks (and even runs) beside you. There is no place you can be that He hasn't been there already! What a good, good God! Rejoice today. Show your great joy and delight in the Master of it all. Look to Jesus, the author and finisher. He will satisfy. He will meet your need or desire. He will fulfill you.

Living in Hope
**As time has permitted, I have been going through old writings. So as to let go of some of my "paper weight" I am posting those writings here**
~The size of our challenges is the predictor of the size of our victories~
Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
What does the verse promise and encourage you to do? Take the time to think of one situation where you could live in the power of this promise and describe what that would look like to you this week.
Just one situation.
One where you could live in the power of this promise.
Describe that.
I'll start.
We are almost smack-dab in the middle of the week, but that doesn't mean that the victory cannot be won this week. There is time. I will rely on God's Word and live like it is true no matter what my feelings tell me. Another words, DOUBT WILL NOT TRIUMPH. Victory IS coming! Healing is for God's children of today. I will choose to dwell on WHOSE I am and who I am in Him, therefore, I have a confident heart.
I am not hid from HIS face. All my ways are before HIM. With JESUS on the battleground with me, Victory will conquer.
It doesn't have to be PERFECT to be BEAUTIFUL!
