Blessing Of Choice

"Life is not the result of dreams, dreamed, but of choices made."

Psalm 32:8  I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

It is always a wise choice to listen to the Master Teacher.  He desires to give us good advice; looking into our eyes, receiving our full attention.  He is not one to "him-haw" around, creating more questions, but He gives straight answers.  He advices wisely.

As His pupils we should make the choice to listen to Him, to believe in and follow after Him and the instruction He gives.

He is never blind to us.  And, really, wouldn't it be wonderful if we knew Him so intimately that He actually rarely had to say a word to us...but we could just know what He wanted simply by how He looked at us?

As a child, I never took this concept to be a wonderful thing...but that has changed now that I'm a parent myself.  How often would our Heavenly Father rather just guide with the eye, rather than have to give us a long explanation as to the why's of what He instructs us to do?  Well, that was sort of a rabbit trail...but a worthy one, right? LOL

Well, moving along....

Choice is a freedom, but such a responsibility.   Here are a few examples:

1.) Choice of Time - Ecclesiastes 3 tells us there is an appropriate time for everything.

2.) Choice of Mentorship - Titus 2 tells us this is a must.  Example is everything.  Be a good one.  Oh that my light would shine before all men that they may see good works and glorify the Father which is in Heaven.

3.) Choice of Prayer - Luke 11 and Mark 14 are just a couple Biblical references on this.

4.) Choice of Reading - the Bible is always a good choice.  If mystery or action or love is what you thing a good read is, then look no further.  The Bible has all that!  Proverbs is a great book to learn wisdom from.  It has a lot of applications on how to handle life too.

5.) Choice of Attitude - Why? Because it's something you have control over and an action that can be done right away.  It is a little daily choice that reaps BIG short term and long term reward of blessings...or curses.

Just depends on your actions...or in some cases....reactions.

Some time ago, I read a quote and I want to share it.  The quote said, "Your level of maturity is in direct proportion to your ability to make wise decisions."

Wouldn't it be a wonderful thing to grow in grace and knowledge, not only mentally, but spiritually?

There is nothing wrong with the Teacher's instruction, no, there is no flaw there.  It is the pupil that has the potential for flaw.  And, it is the pupil who has been given the power of choice.  The choice to listen, to obey, and be guided.

What will your choice be?

The choice you make today could be tomorrow's blessing or curse.  Choose wisely.
