Working On A Building...A Spiritual House

I Peter 2:1-5  Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.  To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

The song "Working On A Building" has crossed my mind several times in the last 24 hours.  If you don't know what I'm talking about, You can listen to it here:

To me there is nothing like being home doing the task of a homemaker.  Working the Home....I suppose I appreciate it more so now than ever because I have to be away from hearth and home so many hours out of the day.  Life circumstance demands it of me.  (Ah, such is the life of a Single Parent. So, to all those married mommas out there who have a hubby to bring home the bacon for you...don't take it casually or for granted).  Well, I'll digress. You really don't want to hear the "soap" I have for that, so I'll get off that box.  LOL *wink, wink

Let's get back to working.

To me, one of the most pleasant sounds of home is a washer running and a dryer humming.  Weird.  But, it gives me the feeling of contentment.  Putting a load of laundry on is one of the first things I do every morning.  Just a task among many that keeps this home clean.

Because we are flesh we continually have to work on ourselves and keep things cleaned up.  Sometimes you may have a dream that upon waking up and remembering it, puts you instantly in a terrible mood.  Or, maybe you get a phone call or overhear a conversation that causes you to be angry or jealous.  We've all had those moments.  It's as if unwittingly that attitude can come upon us and then there are those times we just let our flesh get in the way and 'think a little tooooo much'.  Work on your building, girl!

We are the temple...the home...the building...where God wants to dwell.  It's a must that we work daily to keep the spirit clean so as the Spirit has the room to abide.

I Corinthians 6:19  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

It's our spirit vs His Spirit on the daily, really.

Sometimes we feel as if we're in the spin cycle or feel as if we're drying up and tumbling out of control, but never fear God's got us  :)  As long as He sees a person that is hungering after Him...it all comes out clean in the end.  ;-)

And just as having a clean, clutter-free home allows for room to safely play and enjoy your family...so too in keeping a clean spirit allows for you to be a lively stone for Him.  For when your heart is clean your more apt to feel the joy that His presence can give...and SHOW it.

Keep cleaning and Be lively...It's worth it!

:-) :-) :-)
