Don't Discard Yourself

Life can be so abundantly full and yet we can lack fulfillment. Emptiness is difficult to emotionally describe. Yet I totally 'get it'.

In the rush of making it through Life; all the housework, meeting the child(ren's) needs, the paying of the bills, making the commute to and from work, (and the list can go on and on), we can become very depleted of what really matters.  We all wrestle with contentment nearly on a daily basis.  At times it's as if a piece of our very soul is missing,  Not one of us is alone in this.  We have all felt it at one time or another.

Today I went to a local fast-food establishment to grab me a quick lunch.  I ordered, pulled up to the window and almost immediately the cashier at the window handed me my drink.  In my distraction of talking on my cell phone (yes, I was trying to multi-task, isn't that what all women do? lol) and also trying to beat the clock, I grabbed the offered drink...and DROVE OFF!  I. Drove. Off.  I totally forgot about the thing that would give me the most nutrients - my food! That is until I went to reach for it and found it not there.  So, I had to make a U-turn and go back and get it.

Sometimes in our spiritual journey there is a need for U-turns.  U-turns can be very vital to our existence.

I made it back.  And, to not be held up any further and to also not hold anyone else up, I had to park the car and walk in to get my purchase.

On this spiritual journey we also oftentimes find that we:

Take a quick inventory of the contents of our heart
Remove our self from any obstacles (or becoming one to someone) in the way
Stop, Park-It...and Walk inside

We have to get into His presence

It is only in His presence that we, the vessel, are filled with the right contents.

It wasn't until I was back, sitting at my desk that I seen the little white, circled note on my large styrofoam cup.

"When I Am Empty Please Dispose Of Me Properly"

Oh!  I'm so thankful God doesn't see me like that!

Psalm 126:2  Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy.  Then it was said among the nations, The Lord has done great things for them.

In Heaven every prayer is written down, God's heart hears the sound of every cry, and His power abounds when you pray.  He longs to keep us filled.  He is the Potter that knows the Clay and the most beautiful part of this whole thing is:

He keeps working on us and is not willing to throw us into a trash heap.

So, if you are feeling empty today take heart.  Trust the Process.  Let Him work on you.  He knows best.  It's gonna work out just fine!  :)

Laugh.  Sing Songs of JOY.  Jesus is with you and though you may not see it now, He really is doing great things....just for you.
